Enlarged Loft Conversion & Extension - Walthamstow
An existing loft conversion was enlarged to incorporate a bathroom and larger bedroom. There was also a six-metre ground floor extension in accordance with the house holder permitted development scheme.

The Design
The loft was extended to create a larger and more modern living space. For the extension, the client wished to create the feel of an indoor/outdoor crossover space, and so a full corner bi-fold door design was constructed.
This was achieved using a long-span, cantilevered-beam and columns to support the bulk span of the beam. This design allowed the structure to be supported without the need for a corner column to the edge of the extension, therefore allowing a much larger open space with the doors open.
