The Design

Party wall agreements with neighbours needed to be undertaken with specific and accurate construction methodology to ensure no foundations were undermined throughout insulation of the cellar and the large lateral stability box frame.

Large vaulted ceilings in the loft were supported by steel beams and steel hangers supporting lower level roof structures.

The wine cellar itself was constructed from pre-stressed, pre-cast circular concrete units which are stacked against each other to form a retaining wall and resist both lateral forces and ground pressure.
